Holand Automotive Group Concludes Major Transactions for Purschase of Montreal and Laval Maserati Dealerships

Montreal, –The Holand Automotive Group has concluded major transactions to purchase the Montreal and Laval Maserati dealerships, widening its already significant presence in the provincial automotive industry. Partnering with the Holand Automotive Group in the Laval purchase is Toronto-based Serruya Private Equity (SPE).
“We are very excited to be adding the Maserati brand to our portfolio,” stated Gad Bitton, the president and CEO of the Holand Automotive Group.
The Holand Automotive Group already owns and operates Holand Leasing, Omega Leasing Canada, Rolls-Royce Motors Cars Quebec, Karma Montreal, BMW– MINI Ville de Québec and BMW – Lévis as well as Karma and Lamborghini of Palm Beach in South Florida under its umbrella.
While the management and staff at the two Maserati dealerships will remain in place
Rolls Royce Motor Cars Quebec Vice–President and General Manager George Angelopoulos will now oversee the two Maserati dealerships as well. “The senior management at both locations will remain intact,” maintains Mr. Angelopoulos.
This transaction comes at a time of change when Maserati’s market in the Montreal and North Shore territories is reinventing itself “Maserati remains one of the world’s most glamourous automotive manufacturers,” said Mr. Bitton “Our objective is to accelerate the Maserati business in the province. With our hands on experience and proactive approach in the industry we are optimistic of great things to come as we tap into a new market.”
The line of Maserati vehicles are already present in the state-of-the-art Holand Automotive Group facility, opened less than two years ago on Decarie Boulevard in Montreal. The Laval dealership remains in place at 175 Chomedey Boulevard.
Michael Serruya, the managing director of SPE, ventured into the automotive industry in partnership with the Holand Automotive Group last year. “I have gained a new appreciation for this industry and I am looking forward to this new chapter with Maserati,” he remarked. “Our goal is to share our collective business expertise and take sales and service to the next level.”

Mr. Bitton is the president and CEO of Holand Automotive Group, Omega Leasing Canada, Holand Leasing USA and Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Quebec. His company is the exclusive dealership for the Karma Revero, which marks the return of the original luxury electric car. Last year he and Mr. Serruya, concluded a significant transaction to purchase BMW– MINI Ville de Québec and BMW – Lévis . Mr. Bitton owns, as well, Karma of Palm Beach, Lamborghini of Palm Beach in South Florida, the Holand Real Estate Group and runs a private family office that has diversified investments in private and public companies.
MICHAEL SERRUYA
As managing director of his Toronto-based company Serruya Private Equity (SPE), Mr. Serruya specializes in mergers and acquisitions and strategic investments. In 1987 he and his brothers Aaron and Simon launched Yogen Früz, a world leader in the frozen snacks category, with over 1,400 locations operating in over 47 countries around the world. They turned this into a global franchising empire, with such companies as Cold Stone Creamery and Pinkberry. SPE is an investor in the Second Cup Ltd., a Canadian specialty coffee retailer operating franchised and company owned cafes across Canada. SPE previously owned the historic Omni King Edward Hotel in Toronto and boasts many other holdings in the food and real estate sectors. Mr. Bitton and Mr. Serruya have been close friends and partners in real estate for more than 25 years.
